- The Metro Martin Place North Tower in Sydney, designed by Foster + Partners and Johnson Pilton Walker, stands out for its sleek contemporary design, sustainability focus, and integration with the Sydney Metro station. The tower's curved façade features windows in various complex geometric shapes and angles, including rectangles, trapezoids, and triangles. Our team provided and supplied advanced shading systems which were custom-designed to enhance energy efficiency, including 2,500 tensioned blind systems for the various window shapes and bottom-up shaped blinds.
These automated shading systems minimise heat gain and prevent glare, ensuring employee comfort. They integrate with the AV system and are operated via one tablet per level, allowing sunlight penetration of 0.5m-1m per floor to maximise daylight use while managing heat gain and glare. Collaboration with Climate Ready Engineering to develop a custom GUI for each blind on each level was a key differentiator. The project also included motorised and automated drapery tracks, recessed drapery tracks, and custom sheer and blockout fabrics.
